State lawmaker steals timber from public endowment land, and gets away with it.  His defense:

According to court records, Hart argued a logger, whose name he couldn't remember, told him he could legally log state endowment land without paying.

So I guess a logger, whose name we don't even know, is competent to give legal advice.  How many of us do you think would get away with this?
